Junior Khanye was full of praise to Kaizer Chiefs players and coaches following their 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants on Saturday evening.

Playing in their first Betway Premiership match of the season, all eyes were on Amakhosi and new coach Nasreddine Nabi. Despite going down 1-0 early in the game, Chiefs claimed a 2-1 win thanks to Mfundo Vilakazi’s late goal.

After the match, ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye praised Nabi for motivating his players.

“Credit to Nabi for being able to coach these players, ” he said on iDiski TV.

“To be honest, I was let down by Samkelo Zwane. He needs to work on his mindset and decide if he is an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder. I expected him to shine in this game.”

Junior Khanye gives credit to Kaizer Chiefs players and coach

“Credit to Kaizer Chiefs, I need to be honest. The mindset of the players, and the way they responded to win this game by scoring in the latter stages of the match.

Dance Malesela should not be sitting at home without a job. The country is losing if these guys are not coaching. We know players and teams can go far if they are under Dance. European coaches will tell you they need two months, but Dance just needs a month[to make changes],” Khanye said.

Kaizer Chiefs also introduced four of their new players in the starting eleven against Gallants. Bradley Cross, who was signed from Arrows, was awarded Man of the Match.
