Ron Kray was a notorious British criminal and gang leader, born on 24 October 1933 in Hoxton, London, United Kingdom. He was raised by his parents, Violet Lee Kray and Charles David Kray, Sr., and grew up with two siblings, Reginald Kray and Charlie Kray.

Ronald Kray is one of the two infamous Kray twins, who were notorious English gangsters and organized crime figures. Along with his identical twin brother, Reg Kray, they dominated the London underworld for over 10 years and were known as the most feared gangsters in the city.

Their gang, known as the Firm, was based in Bethnal Green, and they were involved in various criminal activities such as murder, armed robbery, arson, protection rackets, gambling, and assaults.
