Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Biography
Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu (born 6 November 1980) is a Nigerian investment banker and politician who has been the current Minister of Steel Development since August 2023.
He ran for governor of Kogi State before being appointed as a minister. On August 21, 2023, Audu was named minister of Steel Development after the Senate submitted and subsequently screened cabinet nominees.

Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu was born in Kogi to his late father, Prince Abubakar Audu. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom in 2001.
He graduated from the University of Reading’s Henley Business School with an M.Sc. in International Securities, Investment, and Banking (ISIB).
Audu also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Oxford in 2013, where he attended St. Hugh’s College.

He began his career at Investment Banking and Trust Company Limited (“IBTC”), where he worked in the Global Markets and Treasury Department of the Corporate & Investment Banking Division for two years.
He later joined Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited as a pioneer promoter, and he and his colleagues in the Banking Group established the Pension Fund Administrator (“PFA”), which is today Nigeria’s largest.
They both established the Investment Management Desk, and he was later named as an Executive Director in the Asset Management Subsidiary.
From 2013 to 2023, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu served as the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Group’s Venture Capital Business.
He has worked and gained expertise in many banks, including Bank of New York Melon in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and Credit Suisse Global Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, among others.
