The PSL transfer window opens on January 1.

But that doesn’t mean clubs can’t begin putting out feelers – ask Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, who are linked with several high-profile PSL players.

Transfer gossip

  • Kaizer Chiefs are in hot pursuit of Bafana legend Percy Tau, who will likely leave Al Ahly in January following a falling out with his coach. According to reports, Tau’s desired destination is South Africa – let the bidding begin.
  • Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns want PSL star Jayden Adams, who could decide in January. The Buccaneers are willing to trade Goodman Mosele plus cash to get the deal over the line.
  • Oswin Appollis is another hot prospect on the Kaizer Chiefs radar, who are eager to bring him to the club.
  • Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring free agent Bongani Zuni as they look to cover up the whole that injured Edson Castillo has left.

More on the Adams and Tau situation

“At the moment the way things stand, Orlando Pirates are in a much better position to sign Jayden [Adams]. They have offered Stellenbosch FC money plus Goodman Mosele for that deal to go through,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“Yes, it’s still early stages but that is how things start. They could actually overtake Mamelodi Sundowns in that race. They are confident they can have the deal sealed in the next transfer window period which is in January.

Former teammate Said Abdelhafiz provided some interesting news on the Tau situation, telling Afrik-Foot ZA, “From what I know about Percy Tau, if he does not renew his contract with Al Ahly, he will return to South Africa.

“It will be difficult for Zamalek to sign Percy Tau, especially in light of the financial crisis the club is suffering from,

“What I understand from Percy Tau’s personality is that if Al-Ahly does not renew his contract, the player will return to South Africa.”
