Penny Lebyane (born December 25, 1976) is a South African radio personality and Disk Jockey. Many listeners prefer to address her by her nickname The Queen of Radio.

Experience in the field has gained her confidence and earned her the distinction as the first black female Disk Jockey in South Africa. She has worked with many top radio stations including Metro FM.

At the 2002 M-net competition Idols, she was sited with the judges. In 2007, she hosted the 8th Annual Metro FM Music Awards. She was the co-host of the SABC1 lifestyle show Motswako in February 2010.

On the E.tv broadcast breakfast show Sunrise, she appeared as an anchor.

Penny Lebyane was born on 25 December 1976 in Bushbuckridge, a local municipality in Ehlanzeni District in Mpumalanga. She hails from a Christian family and was raised in a modest household.

Her parents understood the value of education, she had her basic education and witnessed the Apartheid.

Penny Lebyane studied at the prestigious University of South Africa graduating with a National Diploma in Public Relations, Media/Communications.

Penny Lebyane is a multi-talented radio personality with experience as a deejay and host. She has been in the radio industry since childhood.

In Grade 12, she started working at the Voice of Soweto community radio station. She tried out acting in the second season of the South African television sitcom City Ses’la.

Her love for competition saw her enter the second season of I Love South Africa. She was on season one of Idol South Africa and returned as a Judge in season 2. She is also very active on television appearing on shows as an actress, judge, host, and presenter.

Penny sat as a judge on the popular M-Net television show Idols and in season one of the competition show titled, The Search: E! Host South Africa.

Penny Lebyane is a mother of two lovely children with her baby daddy and ex-boyfriend Ali Naka. Her relationship with the Zimbabwean Businessman ended when they separated in 2008.

The break-up left her with a lot to suffer including depression. Though, the media personality choose the bright side of life and moved on.

Lebyane dragged her baby daddy Ali Naka to court for not signing travel documents for their sons preventing them from spending some time with her on vacation to Swaziland. 

Penny lost her personal belongings to an auction by the sheriff of the court to settle her debt after she failed to a rental agreement between her and a certain company.

As a Christian, she worships at the Assemblies of God Church in Sandton. Penny is a worker in her church and serves as a Sunday school teacher and an usher.
