Since the channel etv announced the soap opera Nikiwe, viewers have wanted to meet the cast. It stars seasoned actors such as Lungelo Mpangase, Muzi Mthabela, Clementine Mosimane, Kenneth Nkosi, and Israel Matseke Zulu.

Produced by Parental Advisory Productions for e.tv, Nikiwe tells the story of a powerful family with wealth and influence. Siphosethu Tshapu is the writer, while Thomas Gumede and Lungile Radu are the executive producers. 

The Story

The soap opera revolves around being hood rich as the Radebe family empire rises and meets its fall. It stands around Diepkloof Extension, Pimville, and Orlando, Soweto.

Themba “Bhungane” Radebe is the clan head and a determined businessperson. His vision is to be the most successful entrepreneur in Soweto. He has a wife, Miriam Radebe, and three children – Nikiwe, Menzi, and Mandisa.

His first-born son and heir to the family empire is Nikiwe Radebe. He is a socialite at heart and has pure intentions. He has a younger brother named Menzi Radebe, while Mandisa is the last-born child.

Themba’s mother, MaSibisi, joined the story after she left prison with Mimmie Cooper, her friend. She stayed in the correctional facility for fifteen years.

Uncle Skeitla got married to the loving, caring, and supportive Dimakatso Sikhosana. Together, they had a daughter, Warona Sikhosana, whom they are proud of.

Israel Matseke Zulu plays Mazibuko, a ruthless tenderpreneur. Soso Rungqu plays Lulu Ngebulana, the former wife of Bhungane. They had his first-born child together, but it remains a secret.

Ntsika Ngebulana, played by Akhona Ndlovu, is the son of Lulu and Bhungane. MaDlamini is the role played by Neo Iman Mothae. She is Bhungane’s secret lover and sangoma.

Zandi Nhlapo as Mirriam Radebe 

Zandisile Nhlapo, best known as Zandi Nhlapo, is a South African actress, entertainer, TV personality, and model. She joined the industry as a teenager and continued to climb the ranks.

Zandi plays Mirriam Radebe, Themba’s wife, in the soap opera Nikiwe. Her character has three children named Nikiwe, Menzi, and Mandisa.

Lungelo Mpangase as Nikiwe Radebe

Lungelo is a South African actress, model, and influencer. She made her debut lead role as Khethiwe on the drama series eHostela. She also played Ntokozo in the series Mzali Wam.

Nikiwe Radebe is her role on the etv soap opera Nikiwe. She is the first-born and heir to the family empire and a socialite.

Clementine Mosimane as MaSibisi

Clementine Mosimane is an award-winning actress and TV personality. She has appeared in many productions since she started in 1991.

In Nikiwe, she plays MaSibisi, Themba’s mother. She and her friend Mimmie Cooper left prison. She served fifteen years for a crime her son committed.
