Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela has lauded the exceptional efforts of Sandton’s detective team. For successfully unraveling the mystery surrounding the tragic murder of Kirsten Kluyts.

The alleged perpetrator, a 21-year-old student enrolled at a Sandton tertiary institution, was apprehended on Sunday in Parkmore. Marking a crucial breakthrough in the investigation.

Where was the arrest made?

The arrest, occurring at approximately 16:00 at the suspect’s student residence. Comes after an intensive and meticulous investigation conducted by the dedicated detectives.

“The suspect, a 21-year-old student at a Sandton tertiary institution, was arrested at about 16:00 at the students’ residence,” read the statement.

The collaborative support provided by 24/7 Security Management played a pivotal role in facilitating the investigation, showcasing the significance of community cooperation in solving such heinous crimes.

When was Kirsten Kluyts murdered?

Kirsten Kluyts met a tragic end on 29 October 2023, while engaging in a routine jog at George Lea Park in Parkmore.
