Early Life and Education
Macks Papo was born on December 6, 1965, in Mamelodi, South Africa. He studied Dramatic Arts at the prestigious University of the Witwatersrand in 1992.
Papo won an American Field Service scholarship to Columbus North High School in Indiana, the U.S., and graduated with a distinction.
Career
Macks stars as businessman Ivan Tshinawa, on the e.tv soap opera Rhythm City, he has been on the show since 2007.
Papo is a nominee for the best actor for the Regional Vita Awards in Bloemfontein. From 1998 to 1999, he starred in the critically acclaimed jazz musical Kippie.
Macks has also featured in other films like Taxi to Soweto, Wheels and Deals, Drumbeats, Get that Job, and playing a human lizard in a Rooibos tea commercial. He is also a writer, and director in theatre, and does community theatre workshops.
As a theatre performer, he has appeared in many theatres like No Good Friday, Survival, Bear in Zermatt, and Switzerland. In 1992, Macks appeared in the play Kwamanzi at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland for the entire British Royal Family.
