Lorna Maseko (born 3 July 1983) is a South African ballet dancer, MC, choreographer, and TV presenter.

She is popular for being the presenter on Top Billing, an SABC3 lifestyle magazine program.

She is credited to be the first professional dancer of color in the country.

Husband

Lorna got married to Gcina “GC” Lukhele, a Joburg-based sales executive in December 2010. 

The couple exchanged their marital vows in the presence of family and friends at Memoire’s wedding venue in Muldersdrift. 

Divorce

After six (6) years of marriage, the couple decided to call their marriage a quit in 2016. 

She appeared on stage at the YOU Spectacular Awards (2016) presenting the award to Emtee, a South African rapper.

She jokingly mentioned that she was a new divorcee and is prepared to begin a lesbian relationship with Ann Hirsch, the host of the award.

Lorna also shared with Sowetan LIVE that she is a new single and ready to mingle. Though she did not share her reason for the divorce.

Career

She held a contract at Ballet Theatre Afrikan, later Lorna joined the SA Ballet Theatre company.

She was the only black professional ballerina at that time. In 2007, she quit her career in billeting for a TV career.

Lorna landed a job as a presenter on SABC, she was also a producer on Afro Showbiz News for SABC Africa.

During her days on SABC, Lorna entered the first-ever Top Billing Presenter Search. She made it to the top ten (10).

She was a co-host and producer on The Weekender, a live current affairs and magazine breakfast show on SABC News International.

In 2009, she stopped her presenting career to start her Events and Lifestyle Management company.

She was also asked Top Billing to film a segment for the 2010 World Cup after which she was awarded a regular contract on the show.

In 2013, Lorna became one of the judges on So You Think You Can Dance, an SABC1 reality competition show.

The year that followed, in 2014, she became a contestant on I Love South Africa, an e.tv game show.

She was the featured guest in the Zaziwa, a music talk show on SABC1.

Two years later, in 2016, she became the host on the first season of Top Chef South Africa, an SABC3 reality competition series.

The following year, in 2017, Lorna was the host on The Hostess with Lorna Maseko, her cooking and lifestyle reality series.
