Fati Muhammad (born June 15, 1982) is a well-known and pioneering Hausa actress in Northern Nigeria’s film industry, often known as Kannywood.

She is regarded as one of the most successful Hausa actresses in the early 2000s. In 2001, she was hired by the Society for Family Health (SFH) to create a large campaign to raise awareness about the causes and management of HIV/AIDS. She was sponsored to the United Kingdom but left willingly after 6 years and returned to Nigeria.

Fati began her film career at the age of 15 when she declared a desire to work in the film industry. She began by informing Tahir Muhammad Fagge, a well-known Kannywood filmmaker, of her interest in the film industry. Tahir referred her to Ishaq Sidi Ishaq, an accomplished image maker in the field.

And Ishaq Sidi Ishaq cast Fati in his film “Da Babu,” and her beauty and style were accentuated in the film, where she was immediately noticed.

This piqued the interest of other producers in the industry, who have frequently included Fati in their films. Fati has appeared in several films. Sangaya, Zarge, Marainiya, Mujadala, Kudiri, Tutar So, Garwashi, Tawakkali, Gasa, Abadan Da’iman, Zo mu Zauna, Tangarda, Hujja, Al’ajabi, Halacci, Samodara, Zumunci, Murmushin Alkawari, Gimbiya, Bakandamiya, Taskan Rayuwa, Nagoma, and Babban Gari are among them. Fati Muhammad married her co-star Sani Mai Iska in 2002 and relocated to the United Kingdom with her husband for her SFH HIV/AIDS Project.

Several years after their marriage broke down, When she returned, she became active in the film industry but quit after marrying Umar Kanu, the senior brother of singer Ali Jita.

After some time, their marriage ended. Fati has no biological children, but she adopted Muhammad Sani, a boy from an orphanage who still lives with her now.
