Ermal Meta began his music career as the guitarist for the Italian band Ameba4, which competed in the Newcomers’ section of the Sanremo Music Festival 2006 with the song “Rido… forse mi sbaglio,” featured on their self-titled debut album.

In 2007, he became the lead singer and songwriter for La Fame di Camilla, releasing three albums, including Buio e luce, which also competed in the Sanremo Festival in 2010. The band disbanded in 2013.
