Mr. André’s experience covers several disciplines like strategic leadership, commodities, sales, manufacturing and production, economic, finance and corporate structuring, legal and regulation, people management and socio-economic development, corporate knowledge, governance and risk management, and knowledge of global markets and business operations.

He boasts of over 20 years of experience and contributing in many senior roles in management at the petrochemicals group Sasol.

Mr. André was a member of the Sasol group executive committee (2009-2014).

He served as the President of China Ventures and spent time in Germany in a business turnaround and management capacity. 

In 2014, he climbed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Nampak.

He quit the position after accepting the Group Chief Executive role at Eskom in January 2020.
