Andile Gaelesiwe (born 13 September 1973 in Soweto) is a South African kwaito singer, songwriter, sexual rights campaigner, and TV presenter. She is popular for hosting Khumbul’ekhaya, an SABC1 docu-reality series, and has been the host of the show since 2006.

She has been in the music industry since her early ’20s and has impressed Mzansi with her albums and singles with BMG records.

The presenter Andile Gaelesiwe was dating Lesley Musina, a South African presenter, and actor. The couple has been cagey to share their relationship details. 

In an interview session on #WTFTUMI, she made it clear that she was no longer dating Lesley and had moved on.

She was born into the family of Philemon Mofokeng. Her father made waves on social media after Katlego Mohai shared a picture of him and asked for Twitter to help find him.

Andile expressed her pain to discover that her father was reuniting with one of his children but was unwilling to confront her on their falling out.

She left a lengthy Twitter thread sharing series of heartbreaking tweets summarizing that she had not seen her dad since he forced himself on her.

As a singer, her experience in the entertainment industry dates back to her early twenties. She has dropped albums as single with BMG records.

She has an outgoing nature which helped her connect with musicians, performers, and also football stars.

She chose to be a radio personality and trained at Yfm radio station located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Andile is interested in the non-profit world leading her to Yfm to start a department YCARES. She has used her position as a CSR director to make extensive contacts in the country covering HLV/AIDs, entrepreneurship, education, and sexual violence.

In 2001, She received a call from a woman who threatened to take her life after she was sexually abused. The incident became a catalyst for Gaelesiwe to talk about her own abuse to help other younger victims who seek help.

According to her, her father raped her when she was eleven years old.

After going public on her rape abuse as a child, calls began to flood the radio station mainly from adults who wanted to help or volunteer. Other calls were from young people who were victims of rape and sexual abuse.

She had a consultation with experts in the field and organized meetings with groups of callers. This marked the successful beginning of her “Open Disclosure programme”.

Later, she became a presenter on the docu-reality show Khumbul’ekhaya and is the perfect person for the show. 

In 2019, she landed the role as a host on “Before I Do” a Mzasi Magic reality show. On the show, couples are assisted to deal with those challenges they encounter hindering them from climbing to the next level.
