Biography
Dumisani Chauke (born September 17, 1986) is a South African sports personality and a netball analyst for Super Sport. She is the assistant coach of the Spar Baby Proteas and was the national under-21 netball team assistant coach for the women’s team.
The sports personality serves on the adjudicating panel of the Gauteng Sports Awards. She became the Chairperson in 2019. She is an ambassador of the Nelson Mandela University Sports Department.

Dumisani Chauke was born in the northern province of South Africa, Malamulele, on September 17, 1986. Growing up, she fell in love and participated in sports activities.
Young Chauke joined sports teams like soccer, netball, and basketball. She comes from a family of three girls and is the second born. In Primary school, she started to engage in sports.
Education
Chauke registered at Magangeni Primary School. She later moved to Flora Park Comprehensive Primary School. She studied at Capricorn High School.
The sports personality’s love for sports influenced her course at the university. She studied for a National Diploma in Sport Management at Nelson Mandela University.
Dumisani holds a master’s in marketing from the Tshwane University of Technology. She also did a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management at the Tshwane University of Technology.
Career
Dumisani Chauke started to showcase her love for and talent in sports in high school. She was part of the South African u-16 team in 2002. The following year, she became part of the squad of the u-17.
As a student at the university, she played netball. She was a coach and a member of the executive committee. After her Postgraduate Diploma at TUT, Chauke played full-time at the Spar Proteas.
Dumisani submitted her resignation from international netball in 2014. She became a player coach and later a head coach at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
In 2016, she became the assistant coach for the baby Proteas. Dumisani is currently the SPAR Proteas assistant coach. She became the Chairperson Nelson Mandela Bay Basketball Association in 2012.
Dumisani is a Sports Organizer for netball and basketball at TUT. She formed the Dumisani Chauke Netball Foundation in 2017. Its primary goal is to empower young girls through netball and other skills training.
Chauke is a netball analyst at Super Sport and the team assistant coach at SPAR Proteas Ladies Netball.
In 2018, she received a presidential award at the South African Youth Awards hosted by NYDA. The honor was for the work through her foundation (DCNF).
Foundation
Dumisani has a foundation – Dumisani Chauke Netball Foundation. She registered it on September 15, 2017, and it has touched the lives of over 500 girls.
The foundation empowers young girls through the following:
- netball skills training
- pre-loved tekkies
- sanitary towels
- life skills and two community-based projects
Personal Life
Dumisani Chauke posted a picture of her engagement ring on Facebook on August 20, 2018. She did not reveal who her husband-to-be was. She is a proud mother to a boy.
Work is time-consuming, no doubt, but she tries her best to manage the time for her child. Her siblings also look after her child when she is out for work.
