Her mother, Geeta Sanon, is a physics professor at the University of Delhi, while her father, Rahul Sanon, is a chartered accountant. Kriti has a younger sister named Nupur Sanon, who is also an actress.

Kriti attended Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, and later obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida.
