These grants, vital to almost one-quarter of the population, alleviate 60% of expenses for South Africa’s neediest citizens.

As per Statista, approximately 18 million South Africans battle extreme poverty, surviving on less than R35 per day.
The impact of grants in the fight against poverty cannot be overstated.
For 2024, SASSA has outlined essential payment dates, with beneficiaries having the option of direct deposit or mobile cash points at participating retailers.

Given the challenges faced by the South African Post Office in 2023, cash payments at SAPO branches will be phased out by March 2024.
SASSA PAYMENT DATES FOR FEBRUARY 2024
- Older Persons Grants: Friday, 2 February 2024.
- Disability Grants: Monday, 5 February 2024.
- Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 6 February 2024.
SASSA emphasizes that payments may take 2-3 days to reflect in some bank accounts. Staying informed about these crucial dates ensures timely access to funds for beneficiaries

For the Child Support Grant online application here’s what you need:
- Applicant’s ID document copy
